🔥 A Tale of Fire & Resurrection: Shadow-Binding Magick 🔥

A Journal Entry into the Unexpected

Journal Entry 1: The Fire That Calls

The air is thick with the scent of burning sage. The flickering candle before me is more than just light—it is a gateway. Tonight, I embark on the journey of shadow-binding magick, a ritual as ancient as time.

Easter whispers of resurrection, but what does that indeed mean? I ask myself: Am I willing to let go of who I was to become who I am meant to be?

As I shuffle my tarot deck, the Death card reveals itself—not an end, but an invitation. Shadow-binding is not about destruction; it is about liberation. Despite knowing they no longer serve me,  I write down my deepest fears, the parts of me that I cling to.

I take a deep breath. The match ignites. The flames dance. I watch my past burn, knowing that I will rise anew in its ashes.

Journal Prompt 1: What part of yourself must die for you to be reborn?

Journal Entry 2: The Ritual of Shadow-Binding Magick

The night is still, save for the crackling of the candle flame. My hands tremble slightly as I draw a sigil on parchment—a symbol of release, surrender, and power.

Shadow-binding magick is not for the faint of heart. It requires courage, for in facing our fears, we strip ourselves bare. I recite the incantation:

"Bound no more by chains of past,
I call the fire—make it last.
What once held weight now turns to dust,
I rise anew, in self I trust."

The sigil catches fire, the paper curling inward as my fears dissolve into smoke. I close my eyes and visualize myself stepping out of the ashes, radiant and unchained.

The ritual is complete. The transformation has begun.

Journal Prompt 2: What limiting belief are you ready to burn away?

Journal Entry 3: Resurrection is Worth Dying For

Dawn breaks with a golden hue, light spilling through my window like a silent benediction. I feel different—lighter—as if something unseen has shifted within me.

Resurrection is not about returning unchanged—it is about becoming more significant. The phoenix does not fear the fire, knowing that rebirth is destiny.

I step outside and feel the warmth of the sun against my skin. The cycle of death and rebirth is not just an ancient myth—it is a truth written in the stars, in nature, in the very rhythm of life itself.

I whisper to the wind, "I have died a thousand times, and each time, I have risen stronger."

Journal Prompt 3: What does resurrection mean to you? How will you rise anew?

🔥 Shadow-Binding Magick: A Step-by-Step Guide 🔥

Want to perform your own shadow-binding ritual? Here's how:

🌑 Step 1: Gather Your Tools

  • A black candle (for release)
  • A white candle (for rebirth)
  • A piece of parchment or bay leaf
  • A fire-safe bowl
  • A pen (red ink for power, black for letting go)

🔥 Step 2: Write Your Shadows

On the parchment, write down the beliefs, fears, or habits that no longer serve you.

🌬 Step 3: Activate the Energy

Light the black candle. Hold the parchment in your hands and breathe deeply, acknowledging the weight of what you are about to release.

🔥 Step 4: The Fire of Transformation

Recite an incantation (or use the one in my journal entry), then burn the parchment in the fire-safe bowl. As the flames consume the paper, visualize your burdens dissolving.

🌕 Step 5: Embrace Rebirth the white candle and speak aloud what you are stepping into. Hold this vision. Let it settle into your soul.
